Prayer concerns
This is a Canada day like no other I’ve ever experienced. It is a time when we have been reminded that parts of our history are extremely unfortunate. I cannot remember at time when we’ve had to deal with a national shame and perhaps this is an important time for us to be praying that God will heal our land. Someone reminded me today that this Canada day is a delicate balance of reflection and appreciation as we think of our nation. I’d like to encourage you to pray for reconcilliation in our country.
In addition I’d also like to call Bloor Central to be praying for our national leader Commissioner Floyd Tidd. Floyd is a good friend of us at Bloor Central. He and his wife Tracey were a part of our fellowship from 2010 till 2015 when they moved to Austrailia to take up ministry responsibilities there. They returned to Canada in 2019 and have been faced with many challenges which have been even more complicated with the covid 19 pandemic. Commissioner Floyd was recently diagnosed with the early stages of prostate cancer. The prognosis is positive but they will have to take at least a month off of their responsibilities. Please be praying for Floyds full and complete recovery along with praying for Tracy and the family, other leaders in The Salvation Army who will take on responsibility, medical workers etc..
We do have a wonderful thanksgiving item as we’ve heard back from Cindy that she had very postive report back from the doctor. She continues to work through some challenges but some early concerns about cancer have proved to not be serious. So we continue to pray for our dear freind with great appreciation for the way God has been working in her life.
Through a very unpleasant period of covid I’ve been grateful for the reminder of how central prayer is in our ability to live out our lives in Christ. What a privilege, what a responsibility to be faithful in praying for our nation, our leaders and our friends. God bless you.
