Link #91 - Who will you be?

Greetings in the name of Jesus.

As we move through this first week of Lent, Christians from around the world commit themselves to disciplines that will help prepare them for the coming Good Friday and Easter Sunday.  Some people fast, some spend extra time in prayer or Bible reading, some offer special service or give special offerings.  We'd like to encourage you to consider how you might actively prepare yourself over the next 37 days of Lent.  

Last week Karen mentioned one possibility for Lent.  Why not spend this season getting to know Jesus better?  Karen suggested taking time through this season to read the gospels (those are books of the Bible at the beginning of the New Testament - Matthew, Mark, Luke and John).  That is a great way to get to know Jesus better.  Even taking just one of the gospels would be helpful.  If you are going to just read one we'd suggest focusing on Mark.

Through this special season we want to create a focus on Jesus.  Each Sunday during SUNDAY WORD we will be spending time getting to know Jesus better.  This week we'll again go back to John 1.  The question we ask this week is "Who are you gonna be?".  Its a real good question and answering it will really help you to prepare for Good Friday and Easter Sunday.
